So you have probably figured out by now, that I'm walking in Waikiki which is part of Honolulu. My daughter wanted to surf, so I went with her to walk. Loping 2.80 miles, it was interesting to note that in Waikiki, there are a lot of walkers! I had to pay attention or smack into other pedestrians.
These two art pieces can be found at "Thomas Jefferson Elementary School." Another note, I have been discovering that the schools have impressive art displays worthy of our attention! Double click the photos to see details of these wonderful pieces.
Mirrored reflections on the Ala Wai canal is due to the lack of tradewinds, making humidity levels high and a little uncomfortable. But, it sure makes for pretty pictures, no?
This park, dedicated to Princess Ka'iulani, just off Ala Wai Boulevard, can only be used by residents of Ainahau Vista, rumored to be in the exact location of the home of the Princess.
"The Governor Cleghorn" apartments, is named after Princess Ka'iulani's father, Archibald Cleghorn.
The statue of Princess Ka'iulani is a prominent feature on this tiny,(and I do mean "tiny") triangle shaped park off of Ka'iulani Avenue. She was known to have many peacocks roaming around her yard in Waikiki, and was sometimes called, the "Peacock princess."
Change can be good! Change is inevitable! The only thing that doesn't change is CHANGE! Can you spare any change?? HaHa! Just had to add that one in! I'm still debating the next area to walk as finishing an area requires a CHANGE to another place. Wish me luck! A Hui Hou!(Till we meet again!)
