Admiring the pohaku's (vertical stones) gracing the front yard of a home, I realized that one pohaku was in the image of a computer monitor and keyboard.  I guess that this particular model is from the "stone age!"  HaHa!  Please double click the picture to see the details up close!

Now where am I?  Well, feeling like filling in some puka's(holes) from previous journeys, Waikiki was the choice for today.  Did you notice that I didn't delete all the pictures?  Phew, I thought that I was cursed for a while!  Anyway, with my handsome husband in tow, we completed a blistering 5.0 miles!  I'm hoping that this won't be the first and last time he'll walk with me, as I seem to wear out friends and family when they accompany me.

As Waikiki has about a zillion hotels in a small area, here are a few pictures of various hotel landscaping which are well thought out and beautiful to behold.  *Test!  Do you think you know which hotels I took these pictures from?  Comment, and I'll let you know!

Obviously, this coconut tree wasn't about to let a little 'ole tree get in the way of growing taller!  Talk about perseverance!

A restaurant and shop called "Tilia's," once was someone's home.  Artfully designed to display their items for sale, the beaded products are unique and gorgeous!  The restaurant's speciality seems to be "waffles," and "taro" waffles in particular. Double click the picture and see the intricate beaded brooches.  (Do you see Kamehameha?)  Located at the corner of Kuhio and Kaiolu, give it a visit!  I'm thinking of coming back to eat waffles and buy some beaded products!  Don't "waffle" about and DO what you want to do!  Aloha no! (Love, indeed!)

  1. Aloha!
Hmmmmmm, I cannot tell what hotel that may be at. I looked at the map and hoped it would tell me but nah, the map no tell. Soooooo I'm going to do a random guess from the Charity Walk that it is the double tree hotel? I guess this one because I remember that being somewhere nearby the ala wai canal (plus I loooooove their cookies)!
Can I go with you to Tilia's for breakfast sometime? I hope their food is as awesome as their merchandise!
Also, just wanted to say I love your cute pictures of the stone age computer and the tree that didn't give a darn.
I'll try come with you again on your walk. :)
