Friday the 13th, not the most lucky day, yeah?  Well, we always make the best of it.  On my route today, I passed by Salt Lake Elementary School.  I hope that they don't have any windows, because if I were a student, I would be totally distracted.  Okay, those of you who know me, know that I'm easily distracted anyway!  HaHa!  Must have been because I was born and raised in Hawaii and seeing beauty all the time makes it hard to concentrate!  I've been wondering if you were noticing the street names... "Ala" this and "Ala" that!  Well, "Ala" means street! Go figure!  Most of Salt Lake streets are named after flora or fauna.  I'll try to post the various flowers of the street names.

I was trying to take a picture of a Samoan church which is actually a residence in Salt Lake.  I did not get the permission of the minister, so, unfortunately, I don't have a picture to go with the story.  But, there are certain nights that we can hear the Samoan church hymns in joyous spirits.

Do you want to scare critters from your yard? This faux crocodile might do the trick!  Actually, the spiky spines were very shiny, like plated with gold.  Unfortunately, the camera didn't pick it up.

I would feel very welcome in this person's yard.  The gateway is almost like a shrine, where I would contemplate and reflect; surrounded by peaceful serenity.

How can I not end with a picture of the flowers of Hawaii.  This Hibiscus caught my eye with the burgundy center, red petals and finishing with a pink outline.  Aloha until Monday!

  1. Gorgeous pictures again! I like your observations- I would not have noticed the pink trim on the petals for the Hibiscus. I understand now why you appreciated it so much. Thank you for helping me to see the beauty that is all around me.

    1. You're very welcome! By walking, I can see things that would normally be missed as I dash by in a car. Paying attention to detail is not my strong suit, so, this journey has really helped!
